NEWBio Bioenergy Scholarships for Spring 2015

The USDA-Funded NEWBio bioenergy consortium is once again pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for the Spring 2015 offering of the following online course: 

FOR 880: Bioenergy Feedstocks (3cr)

For more information about the course, visit - note that ABE 884 - Bioenergy Systems (or equivalent) is a required prerequisite.  

Call for Applications - Bioenergy Scholarships Fall 2014

The USDA-funded NEWBio bioenergy consortium is accepting applications for scholarships for the fall semester of 2014.  These scholarships are for the two RESS bioenergy courses offered this fall:  ABE 884 (Bioenergy Systems) and ABE 888 (Bioenergy Conversion Technologies).

Bioenergy Scholarships Available for Summer Semester 2014

The USDA-NIFA funded NEWBio bioenergy consortium is offering scholarships for online graduate-level bioenergy courses at Penn State during the Summer Semester 2014. There are two courses that will be offered during the summer:

 - ABE 884: Bioenergy Systems (3cr)

 - ABE 885: Bioenergy Harvest and Logistics (3cr)

Both of these courses are part of the Bioenergy option of the RESS Master's of Professional Studies degree, as well as the graduate certificate in bioenergy.   

Seven Graduate Scholars to Receive Scholarship Support

The USDA-sponsored NEWBio consortium has announced the award of seven scholarships for a new online, graduate level bioenergy course to be taught this fall. The awardees come from academia and industry, and will be enrolling in a new 3-credit course in Bioenergy Systems, taught by Penn State Professor Tom Richard. The following people have been awarded these NEWBio Graduate Distance Education Scholarships:

RESS Program Officially Underway

On July 12, 2013, the Penn State Trustees approved delivery of a new Masters of Professional Studies in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Systems. This inter-college online program is designed to train graduates to lead the transformation of our economy to a renewable, sustainable basis. "This is an exciting program" said academic program chair Ali Demirci. "We are really excited about offering this great degree as part of Penn State's World Campus."
