There is an entry-level, full-time scientist position available in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) National Bioenergy Center, in Golden, Colorado.
NREL's National Bioenergy Center is conducting research to improve biomass conversion processes for the cost effective production of fuels and chemicals. The scientist in this position will assist in fermentation engineering. This will include experimental design, fermenter setup, operation, sampling, and maintenance, as well as chemical analysis of the fermentation products. The position will involve working with a diverse, dynamic team of scientists and engineers to develop and evaluate microbial strains for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to fuels and chemicals. For this role we are looking for a fermentation scientist to work primarily at the 0.5 L to 10 L scale.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills Relevant Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with the fermentation knowledge and experience.
